Senior Sean Williams Signs Letter of Intent

Sean Williams Letter of IntentSean, the son of Sherman and Traci Williams, has attended 4 years at the Lutheran High School of Kansas City and has participated in Cross Country, Basketball, and Track. On Thursday, May 19, 2016, he announced that he will join the Graceland Yellowjackets.

Sean accepted an Athletic Scholarship to run track and cross country with the Yellowjackets at a Signing Ceremony with Graceland head Track and Field coach Reece Vega at Lutheran High School on Thursday, May 19. In attendance were his parents, Principal Dr. Cary Stelmachowicz and Athletic Director Lee Rudzinski.

Graceland University is located in Lamoni, IA. Founded in 1895, it is a private, four-year liberal arts university. The School offers over 50 academic majors and programs, including 9 pre-professional programs, 36 undergraduate majors, 3 master degrees with 8 majors and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

Graceland, an NAIA school, is a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The conference consists of 10 schools in four states including nearby Avila and MidAmerica Nazarene.  The remaining schools are located in southwest Iowa, southern Nebraska, eastern Kansas and throughout Missouri.

Coach Vega is entering his third year at Graceland University as the head track & field coach for both men and women. In the past two years the Yellowjackets have seen a reemergence of the track & field culture. Last year both the men and women finished third as a team at the Heart of America Indoor Conference Championships. This was the highest finish in the past five years for Graceland. Under Vega in the past years they have had four All-Americans, eight conference athletes of the weeks, seventeen national qualifiers and six school records broken.  

Sean graduates from Lutheran High with a 3.0 GPA. He plans to Major in Computer Science.
