LHS Winter Sports Update
Both Lutheran High Basketball Teams were victorious in our Homecoming contests. Lisa Owsley (Hope, Shawnee) led all scorers in the varsity girl's contest. Justin Rodriguez (St. Stephen) and K.C. Gloe (Hope, Shawnee) led the boys. The girls fought hard but came up short in the game against Plattsburg on the 30th. Hannah Frith (Beautiful Savior) led the effort. The boys were victorious, however, with Brennan Kane (Christ Community) and Justin Rodriguez providing much of the scoring punch.
Both teams had an easy time with their opponents from Calhoun on the 31st. Justin Rodriquez, Brennan Kane and Janel McDowell (Crosspoint Community) were all in double figures.
The Knights continue their winning ways against Sweet Springs on Thursday the 2nd. It will be a home game, beginning at 5:30, so please come out in support of your teams. Let's Go Knights!

Student, Parent & School Ministry
Congratulations to the coaches, players, cheerleaders, fans, staff, parents working the concession stand and taking ticket money, and anyone else who attended the Plattsburg Basketball game. You impressed a Plattsburg administrator so much that she emailed her congratulations on everything from the brochures to the parental support in the stands, and from the friendly environment to the Pizza. Thanks to all of you for demonstrating your faith in your actions. LHS is blessed to have each of you in our community.

Lutheran High School Comes Together With One Heart
At a school like Lutheran High School, when one student is hurting, many others want to help out. As freshman Kristin Wheeler continues to battle cancer, LHS students in the Christian Literature class determined that Kristin should not lose out on another traditional activity during this school year. Since Kristin has been weakened in this fight and could not come to the Homecoming Week Pep Rally, senior Brianna Grimm (Bethany, Overland Park) and Jeremy Rodriguez (St. Stephen's, Liberty) recommended that LHS should take the pep rally to her home. And so they did! The whole band, spirit squad, student body and faculty made the trek to her home 2 miles from school and surprised her with her very own pep rally in her front yard. Truly, the LHS family had come together with one heart to rally for Kristin and for the Knight athletes. Please check out the links to news organizations that covered the event.
