40 years in His Minstry

The 2019-2020 School Year was The Lutheran High School of Kansas City’s 40th year of preparing students for today, tomorrow and eternity.

The school opened in 1980 with 45 ninth and tenth grade students and nine full and part time staff.  There were 23 students in the first graduating class in May of 1983.  The Lutheran High School has since graduated over 750 students.

The school’s original location was near interstate 435 and Holmes Road in southern Kansas City, Missouri.  Due to the sale and development of the leased property site, the school was forced to relocate in the spring of 1985.  The former Benjamin Harrison School at 414 Wallace in the Kansas City, Missouri public school system was purchased.  The school remained in that location for 20 years.  In the summer of 2005, Lutheran High School moved to its current location at 12411 Wornall Road.

The Lutheran High School of Kansas City provides a Christ-centered environment preparing lives for today, tomorrow and eternity.
