Precalculus

What is Precalculus?

Precalculus is two courses in one.  College Algebra comprises the first semester, while Trigonometry makes up the second semester.  College Algebra is the continuance of Algebra II to help prepare students to study Calculus.  Topics in College Algebra look deeper at topics that were covered in Algebra II.  In the second semester, we cover Trigonometry topics which consider the trigonometric ratios developed in right triangles.  We then look how those ratios are found in the world and how they relate to other mathematical topics.

Students may earn dual credit in this course with the University of Central Missouri.  Students can earn 3 college hours in College Algebra and 2 college hours in College Trigonometry.  We will enroll in both courses in the second semester.
